The Professional Ethics subject of study was designed to educate and prepare certified and licensed massage therapists to fulfill their professional ethics requirements for continuing education. Traditional Chinese Medicine refers to a broad range of medicine practices sharing common theoretical concepts which have been developed in China and are based on a tradition of more than 3,000 years, including various forms of herbal medicine, acupuncture, Tuina massage, cupping, taichi and qigong exercises, moxibustion, feng shui, and dietary therapy.

In this course students will learn the basic principles of Yin & Yang, The Five Elements, Zang Fu System, disharmonies of Qi, Meridian System, Chinese approach to diagnosis and treatment.

Theories of Chinese Tuina Massage    

Principles and Theories of Bodywork Therapies

This course begins with an overview on the basic principles of Chinese Tuina massage, focusing on the history and practice. After participants have been introduced to some of the basics of Tuina, they will begin their study by exploring the fundamentals of Tuina.

 

Students explore about techniques, history, application, indications and contraindications of Tuina massage.

The Principles and Theories of Bodywork Therapies class will cover the history, development, and applicability of some of the most common bodywork modalities. This subject of study will expose massage therapists to complementary therapies that are used in conjunction to massage therapy practices. Moreover, gives an opportunity to massage therapists to explore the possibilities to learn other modalities of bodywork that he or she did not learn before and could be a business advantage to explore such modalities covered in this subject of study. Upon completion of this subject of study, the practitioner will receive a certificate of completion referent to 4 continuing education credits on Principles and Theories of Bodywork Therapies.
