Some Advanced Continuing Education Courses maybe composed of online, live classes and hands-on practice designed to educate certified massage therapists and allied health care professionals on specialized techniques, providing them with the opportunity to become unique therapists.
The AST certification is completed via a hybrid format including an online history of auricular therapy, fundamentals of Chinese therapy, relationship between emotional disturbances and Chinese pathology; followed by in-person acupoint location, indications, treatment preparation, applications, and proof of clinical cases of 5 clients.

Description
The CE 16 hours AST course will provide practitioners with the auricular acupressure procedure using ear seeds to be given individually or to a group of people. Auricular acupoint therapy may assist with generalized physical and psychological symptoms including withdrawal, stress, anxiety, pain, and insomnia. According to a study posted by the National Institute of Health (NIH), National Library of Medicine, frequent stimulation of specific auricular acupuncture points is an effective method of appetite suppression which leads to weight loss.Course Syllabus
Module 1: Online self-study class and shorth examination on Fundamentals of Chinese therapy and history of auricular therapy

Module 2-Live classes:
Day 1: Friday, December 16, 2022, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm
Subject: Traditional Chinese Therapy overview, Chinese pathology of internal causes, anatomy of Chinese auricular acupoints.
Clock Hours: 3
Day 2: Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 9:00am to 3:00pm
Subject: Auricular acupoint identification, location, and indications. Treatment preparation and application.

Module 3 - Independent Clinical Sessions: Documenting the application of Auricular Seed Therapy (AST) to 5 Clients.
Clock Hours: 4
Certificate of Completion: Participants will receive the 16 clock- hour Auricular Seed Therapy (AST) certificate after completing all 3 Modules.
Cost: $325.00, includes the instructional booklet and one ear seed package.

What is Reiki? Reiki is a form of Japanese energy work for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes a greater sense of wellbeing. It is accomplished by laying hands on or just above the body and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us. If our "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, but if it is flowing at a higher rate and unblocked, we are more likely to enjoy a greater sense of mental, physical, and spiritual balance. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "universal or the higher power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So, the meaning of Reiki is “universal life force energy." Reiki is spiritual in nature, but it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe to learn and use Reiki.
Reiki techniques are easy to learn and the ability to use Reiki is transferred to the student during a Reiki class during an “attunement” from a Reiki Master Teacher. In Reiki Level 1 class the student’s attunement allows them to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve their own health and enhance their quality of life. In Reiki Level 2 more techniques are taught as well as another “attunement” which allows the student to perform Reiki treatments on others.

Naturopathic Degree, Acupuncture certificate from China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, a Master Degree in Psychology from California Coast University, and currently finishing a Doctor/PhD. in Acupuncture at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine.
Melissa Carrico, L.M.T., COTA/L.
Melissa Carrico received her Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from COD, an Associate Degree Management and Marketing from KCC, is a licensed Massage Therapist, a Certified Master Health Coach/Natural Health Practitioner as well is a Reiki Master/Teacher.
